Carolina Starches provides a full range of specialty chemical supplier services, including:

• Consultative complete system surveys in-mill to provide guidance in all aspects of papermaking and starch chemistry interaction with mill systems

• Regular sales calls

• Quality data analysis test results

Our employees determine together with our customers what types of testing are required. We have found that surface charge and soluble charge tracking can be very valuable in analyzing the effects of starch and other additives on your papermaking system.  We also perform freeness testing, solids comparison, conductivity charts, turbidity analysis, pH and nitrogen substitution testing as necessary.

EQUIPMENT 

Carolina Starches can supply a mill with starch cooking equipment that consists of cookers, pumps, tanks, and any other associated instrumentation.  We have a strong relationship with several of the largest cooker and liquid solution makedown system producers in North America.   Dozens upon dozens of mills in the NAFTA region are running starch cooking systems based on our setup requirements and introduction of cooker manufacturers.
