THANK YOU for your support of American manufacturing.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our Mission Statement is very simple:
"Remain
the leading supplier of choice for paper mills using specialty
starch applications in the NAFTA region. To deliver the highest
quality products and services in our industry. To be
recognized for integrity, value, and uncompromising dedication to our
customers, employees, partners, and the community."
At
Carolina Starches, we ask our employees to live up to high standards so
that we can ensure that pride and respect is passed along to our
customers.
HISTORY
Carolina
Starches purchased the North American Paper Division assets of Dutch
potato starch manufacturer AVEBE in 2004. Since inception, the
company has grown and expanded its personnel and customer base to
create a new, dynamic American-owned starch producer and
distributor. In 2010 Carolina Starches purchased the North
American potato starch business formerly owned in succession by Raisio,
Ciba, and finally BASF.
Formerly,
AVEBE had sold its potato starch derivatives directly in North America
since 1978. Now, select potato is still manufactured in The
Netherlands and sold by Carolina Starches in addition to its potato
product lines exclusively made in the USA. In addition, the
current company has expanded its offerings to include an extensive line
of tapioca and corn based starches in addition to potato.
Carolina Starches is owned by a privately held LLC formed by American executives from the former company.
FACILITIES
Carolina
Starches has its primary production facility, laboratory, and
administrative offices in Charleston, South Carolina. In
addition, we employ a large sales force with
offices throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Carolina
Starches has a number of partnerships with the most respected names in
the Specialty Chemical business, in order to offer a full range of
products and services.
Our
Technical experts carry a wide array of portable scientific instruments
to perform on-site analysis and routine testing of customer
systems. In the event a specific unique type of analysis is
required, Carolina Starches will either perform the work in its
laboratory or obtain the specified results from a recognized and
accredited outside testing center.
